1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup sour cream
3 cups peeled and diced apples

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round or square baking pan.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
Gradually add dry ingredients, alternating with sour cream, until combined. Fold in diced apples.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
In a small bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over the batter.
Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool before serving.
