  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • ⅔ cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • In another bowl, mix milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until combined.
  • Toss diced apples with lemon juice, then fold into the batter.
  • Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  • Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, frying for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  • Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  • Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract for the glaze. Drizzle over warm fritters.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!
