Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 large yellow onion (sliced thinly)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed French onion soup
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 cups cooked egg noodles or pasta
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Optional: 1 cup sour cream, 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, French fried onions or breadcrumbs

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, melt the butter and sauté the sliced onions until caramelized. Set aside.
  • Brown the ground beef in the same skillet, then drain excess fat.
  • Add the caramelized onions, condensed French onion soup, cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder to the skillet with the beef. Stir well.
  • Mix in the cooked egg noodles or pasta.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish.
  • Top with shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
  • Optionally, mix in sour cream and sprinkle French fried onions or breadcrumbs on top for extra crunch.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef.
  • Sour cream adds creaminess, but you can omit it for a less rich dish.
  • Add French fried onions or breadcrumbs for a crunchy topping.
