Ingredients

  • Fresh green beans (1 ½ lbs, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces)
  • Stuffing mix (1 box, about 6 oz)
  • Butter (4 tbsp)
  • Mushrooms (8 oz, sliced)
  • Onion (1 small, diced)
  • Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
  • All-purpose flour (2 tbsp)
  • Chicken or vegetable broth (1 cup)
  • Heavy cream (1 cup)
  • Soy sauce (1 tsp)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Crispy fried onions (1 cup)
  • Optional: Grated parmesan (¼ cup), Cooked bacon (4 slices, crumbled)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Boil green beans for 5-7 minutes until tender; drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet, melt butter and sauté onions, garlic, and mushrooms until softened.
  • Stir in flour, then gradually add broth and cream, cooking until the sauce thickens.
  • Add soy sauce, salt, and pepper to taste, then fold in green beans.
  • Transfer mixture to a baking dish and top with stuffing mix and crispy fried onions.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and bubbly. Optionally, sprinkle parmesan or crumbled bacon on top before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute frozen green beans for fresh if needed.
  • The dish can be made ahead and baked before serving.
