This Hamburger Potato Casserole is a hearty and comforting dish, perfect for family dinners. Made with ground beef, russet potatoes, cheddar cheese, and a creamy mushroom soup mixture, it’s an easy and delicious meal that everyone will love.

  • 1 ½ pounds of ground beef
  • 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (10.75 oz) of condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • ¾ cup of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Season with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the condensed cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth.
  • In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes. Spread half of the beef mixture over the potatoes, then pour half of the soup mixture over the beef. Repeat the layers.
  • Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
  • Remove the foil, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top, and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a layer of cooked bacon bits or sautéed mushrooms.
  • This casserole can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking.
