Scale
  • 2 cups water

  • 2 black tea bags (or 2 tsp loose black tea)

  • 1/2 cup pitted cherries (fresh or frozen)

  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp ground cardamom

  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves

  • 1/8 tsp ground ginger

  • 12 tbsp honey or maple syrup (to taste)

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 cup ice cubes

  • Optional: splash of milk or plant milk

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, bring water, cherries, and spices to a boil. Simmer for 5–7 minutes.

  2. Add tea bags and steep for 5 minutes.

  3. Remove tea bags and strain mixture into a heatproof jar or pitcher.

  4. Stir in honey/maple syrup and vanilla extract. Let cool.

  5. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

  6. Serve over ice, adding milk if desired.

Notes

  • For deeper cherry flavor, mash cherries while simmering.

  • Adjust sweetness to taste or substitute with stevia or agave.
