2 cups water
2 black tea bags (or 2 tsp loose black tea)
1/2 cup pitted cherries (fresh or frozen)
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cardamom
1/8 tsp ground cloves
1/8 tsp ground ginger
1–2 tbsp honey or maple syrup (to taste)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup ice cubes
Optional: splash of milk or plant milk
In a small saucepan, bring water, cherries, and spices to a boil. Simmer for 5–7 minutes.
Add tea bags and steep for 5 minutes.
Remove tea bags and strain mixture into a heatproof jar or pitcher.
Stir in honey/maple syrup and vanilla extract. Let cool.
Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
Serve over ice, adding milk if desired.
For deeper cherry flavor, mash cherries while simmering.
Adjust sweetness to taste or substitute with stevia or agave.
