  • 4 cups green beans (fresh, frozen, or canned)
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (plus extra for topping)
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 ½ cups French’s fried onions (divided: 1 cup for casserole, ½ cup for topping)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tbsp green onions, chopped (optional)
  • Paprika, a sprinkle (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine green beans, condensed cream of mushroom soup, milk, sour cream, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, black pepper, and crumbled bacon.
  3. Stir in 1 cup of French’s fried onions.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven, sprinkle the remaining fried onions and extra cheddar cheese on top, and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and the onions are golden.
  7. Garnish with optional green onions and paprika before serving.
