  • 4 slices white bread
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 4 slices ham
  • 4 slices turkey
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup milk
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Powdered sugar (for serving)
  • Raspberry jam (or strawberry jam, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Spread Dijon mustard on one side of each bread slice.
  2. Layer ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese on two bread slices, then top with the other two slices of bread.
  3. In a shallow dish, whisk together the egg, milk, salt, and pepper.
  4. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides.
  5. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Cook sandwiches until golden brown and cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with raspberry or strawberry jam

Notes

For a richer flavor, use brioche or challah bread. Serve immediately for the best taste.
