  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup ketchup (plus extra for topping)
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • On a piece of parchment paper, flatten the meat mixture into a large rectangle.
  • Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly across the center.
  • Roll the meatloaf tightly, sealing the edges to enclose the cheese.
  • Transfer the meatloaf to a greased loaf pan or baking dish. Spread ketchup over the top.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  • Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add chopped fresh parsley or basil to the meat mixture.
  • Substitute mozzarella with cheddar or provolone if preferred.
