This recipe is easy to make and perfect for a cozy dinner or lunch, especially during colder months. The blend of savory sausage and creamy potatoes makes it a family favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Kielbasa Sausage (14 oz)
  • 4 large Potatoes (Russet preferred)
  • 2 large Carrots
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 6 cups Chicken Broth
  • 2 stalks Celery
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • Salt and Pepper (to taste)
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • Fresh Parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion, carrots, celery, and garlic; sauté until softened.
  2. Add sliced kielbasa and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Stir in chicken broth, potatoes, bay leaf, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 20 minutes.
  4. Stir in heavy cream and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  5. Remove the bay leaf, adjust seasonings, and serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Use Russet potatoes for a creamier texture, or Yukon gold for firmer bites.
  • Adjust cream based on desired richness.
  • For added flavor, lightly brown the kielbasa before adding it to the soup.
