Ingredients

  • Pumpkin puree
  • All-purpose flour
  • Active dry yeast
  • Granulated sugar
  • Brown sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Nutmeg
  • Salt
  • Butter
  • Milk
  • Eggs
  • Cream cheese
  • Powdered sugar
  • Vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit until frothy.
  • Add pumpkin puree, melted butter, eggs, and mix well.
  • Gradually add flour, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg to form a dough.
  • Knead the dough until smooth, then let it rise in a warm place for about an hour.
  • Roll out the dough, spread softened butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar.
  • Roll up the dough and slice into rolls. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise again.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden.
  • Prepare cream cheese frosting by beating together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla.
  • Spread the frosting over warm rolls before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the milk is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast properly.
  • Rolls can be prepared a day ahead and baked fresh in the morning.
  • For extra flavor, add a dash of allspice or ginger to the filling.
